Homestuck Ladyfest Exchange

Assignments are going out in a moment! Before we send them out, however, we have a few things we would like to remind you of:

First, we know some of you have included Tumblrs or other links to personal blogs in your signups, or that your recipient may have done so. That's fine! Stalk to your heart's content--but please do not contact your recipient in the context of Ladystuck, even anonymously. If you have questions for them or need clarification on anything, please go through us (ladystuck at gmail, or send us an ask) and we will contact them for you.

Second, try not to talk about your assignments in public, please! Generalized squeeing is fine, but we're trying to keep this as anonymous as possible.

We have tried to give everyone multiple requests they'd be happy with, but we do make mistakes! If none of the requests in your assignment matches your signup (they are for characters or pairings you did not offer, or contain details which otherwise contradict with your signup), please let us know as soon as possible. We will do our best to reassign you! Please note, however, that we are not mindreaders. We assigned you based on the details you gave in your signup, no more and no less, and we can only guarantee reassignments in cases where we have made an error.

If you've been a little blindsided by your assignment--if it matches your signup, but in ways you didn't quite expect--then take a deep breath! Do your best to find an angle you can work with. Talk it out with some friends. Hell, talk it out with us; our email is always open. Remember that the prompts are guidelines, not absolutes, and that what really matters is that you adhere to the spirit of your recipient's request.

The deadline for submitting your recipient's gift is December 27; please let us know by the 18th if you will not be able to meet that deadline. We hope you have fun making your gift, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop us a line!

In an exchange like Ladystuck, drop-outs and defaults are nigh-inevitable. Of course we hope that everyone will post their story or illustration on time, but experience tells us this almost never happens. That's where pinch-hitters come in! Pinch-hitters are wonderful people who, out of the goodness of their hearts, cover the assignments of Ladystuck participants who have dropped out, so that everyone in the exchange will have a piece of fic or art just for them when the collection opens. They're the ones, more than anything else, who make challenges like ours run smoothly.

Anyone can sign up to pinch-hit; you don't have to be a Ladystuck participant. If you are interested in writing or drawing something cool about ladies, not to mention being a Big Damn Hero in the eyes of your moderators, we encourage you to sign up for the pinch-hitters' mailing list.

Here's how it'll work: during the challenge, the two of us will send pinch-hits out to the mailing list. You read the pinch-hit assignment, and if you're interested, reply to the email with your AO3 username. (If you don't have an AO3 account, you can still sign up to pinch-hit! Just be sure to let us know you need an account when you claim an assignment. We will get an invite to you so that you can post your fanwork to the challenge :>) We will assign the pinch-hit to the first person who responds.
